International cineastes to hold workshop at Fajr Film Festival

The 35th Fajr International Film Festival is to hold workshops led by cineastes from Iran and around the world.

The organizers announced on Tuesday that Tehran’s Felestin Cinema will host the workshops by top world cineastes such as Hong Kong filmmaker Teddy Chan, Syrian director Mohammad Malas, as well as Icelandic director Fridrik Thor Fridriksson.

Iranian actor Attila Pesyani, film editor Mostafa Kherqepush, directors Maziar Miri and Homayun Asadian, screenwriter Shadmehr Rastin, and film experts Majid Eslami and Hassan Hosseini will also hold dozens of workshops during the event.

Established in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, the Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 35th International Fajr Film Festival is scheduled to take place in the country’s capital of Tehran from April 21 through 28, 2017.
